Number TEN is giving the “heart of the casino” at the Club Regent Show Theatre new life. The $70M addition and renovation will accommodate an increase in activity and performances from approximately 40 to 100 events per year.
At the heart of the Club Regent Casino Redevelopment is a new multi-purpose Entertainment Centre. Its unique feature is the state of the art “spiral-lift” technology which allows the facility to make an effortless transformation from a 1400 seat theatre to an unlimited number of flooring layout configurations. This will give Club Regent new opportunities to expand and tailor its performance venue. This is very good news for Winnipeg audiences.
The Club Regent Show Theatre in Winnipeg is soon to be on par with The Washington Kennedy Centre, The Kimmel Centre for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia and the Air Canada Centre in Toronto in its ability to adapt and configure its venue. The utilization of “spiral-lift” technology, designed by Gala Systems Inc. of Montreal, enables a performance facility to transform what is typically fixed theatre seating to an unlimited number of configurations.
This stage lift system allows for the movement and automatic reconfiguration of stages, orchestras and seating platforms. The performances of Cirque du Soleil, the Montreal Symphony and the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas are all enhanced by the this advanced concert configuration.
The Club Regent Show Theatre, plus Number TEN’s current work on The Winnipeg Convention Centre, The Metropolitan Theatre and The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra Training and Performance Centre maintains Number TEN’s position as a leader in the design of western Canada’s cultural and performance facilities.
